Cosmetic dentistry or smile makeover is generally used to refer to any treatment that improves the appearance (though not necessarily the function) of a person’s teeth, gums and/or bite. Its primary focus is improvement of dental aesthetics such as colour, position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance.
Cosmetic dentistry can cover a whole range of procedures including treating a single tooth to a treating a complete smile (smile makeover). These include but not limited to:
- Bleaching / Whitening: Making teeth lighter
- Veneers: Porcelain fascia that stick onto teeth improving appearance
- Crowns: Complete coverage of tooth with porcelain tooth
- Braces: Orthodontics to improve misaligned teeth or smiles (Invisalign, Inman Aligner, fixed braces)
